The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Ebenezer McJunkin

(March 28, 1819 — November 10, 1907) Ebenezer McJunkin was a lawyer, judge, and politician. McJunkin was born in Center Top, Pennsylvania in 1819. He graduated from Jefferson College in 1841 and was admitted to the bar in 1843. McJunkin served in the Civil War and attained the rank of first lieutenant. He was later elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1871 until he resigned on January 1, 1875. After serving in Congress, McJunkin became the president judge of the seventeenth judicial district of Pennsylvania. He served in that capacity for ten years from 1875 to 1885.
