Oliver P. Snyder

(November 13, 1833 — November 22, 1882) Snyder was a lawyer, public servant, and was engaged in scientific and literary pursuits. Oliver Snyder was born in Missouri and later moved to Arkansas at the age of twenty. After being admitted to the bar, he practiced law in Arkansas while serving as a member of the State House of Representatives (1864-1865), and the State Senate (1868-1871). He was elected to the Forty-Second and Forty-Third Congresses as a Republican. He served in Congress from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1875.
