David Wilber

(October 5, 1820 — April 1, 1890) David Wilber was businessman and politician. Wilber was born in Quaker Street, New York in 1820. After attending common schools, he worked in numerous industries including the lumbering trade, hop business, and agriculture. Wilber was first elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. Despite not being reelected in 1874, he was reelected to the Forty-Sixth Congress and served again from March, 1879 to March, 1881. He was elected a final time to the House for the Fifty-First Congress, but never attended the session due to poor health. Wilber served from March 4, 1887 until his death on April 1, 1890.
