William B. Williams
(July 28, 1826 — March 4, 1905) Williams was a judge, lawyer, and politician. William Brewster Williams was born in Monroe County, New York and moved to Michigan after studying law and the State and National Law School, Ballston Spa, New York. He was admitted to the bar in 1851 and moved to Michigan in 1855. There, he served as judge of probate (1857-1865) and as a member of the State Senate (1866-1870). Williams was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of Wilder Foster. He served in Congress from December 1, 1873 to March 3, 1877.
