William H. Lamport
(May 27, 1811 — July 21, 1891) William Henry Lamport was a businessman, sheriff, and politician. Lamport was born in Brunswick, New York in 1811. After completing his education, he worked in agriculture before acting as supervisor of Gotham in 1848. From 1850 to 1853 he was sheriff of Ontario County, after which he served in the State Assembly. Lamport was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1875.
