United States Thirteenth Amendment 1863-65

Benjamin G. Harris

(13 December, 1805 -- 4 April, 1895) Harris was an American lawyer and politician. Born in St. Mary’s County, Md., Harris studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1840. Harris was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-eighth and Thirty-ninth Congress, serving from March 4th, 1863 to March 3rd, 1867 when he was censured for treasonable utterances and tried for harboring Confederate soldiers.
