William B. Small

(May 17, 1817 — April 7, 1878) Small was a lawyer, businessman, and politician. William Small was born in Limington, Maine and moved to Ossippe, New Hampshire with his parents. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and was admitted to the bar in 1846. Small held various public offices including Solicitor of Rockingham County, New Hampshire, State Representative (1865), and State Senator (1870). He was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. After serving in Congress, he resumed his legal practice in New Hampshire and also worked in banking until his death in 1878.
