Conclusions of the Heads of Delegations Meeting 6 November 1992 1600

The Secretary of State opened with a reminder that the purpose of the adjournment of the meeting at noon was to facilitate further bilateral exchanges.

Much of the discussion focused on the UUP paper that Mr Maginnis said would be tabled on Monday. This was an idea supported by Dr Paisley and Sir Ninian Stephen. However Mr Hume and Dr Alderdice repeatedly expressed a lack of hope in what the paper could achieve at this point in the talks.

At Dr Paisley's suggestion that the other parties might also want to table a paper, Mr Hume expressed pessimism while Dr Alderdice again expressed little hope. There was no conclusion reached regarding the other parties tabling a paper.

Decisions yet to be taken
