For the further security of equal rights in the District of Columbia.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the word “white,” wherever it occurs [+e866254]in the laws relating to the [+e866254]District of Columbia or i[+e866254]n the charter [+e866254]or ordinances of the[+e866254] city of Washington or Georgetown, and operates as a limitation on the right of[+e866254]izen, being[-e866254] any[+e866254] elector of said District or either of said cities to hold[+e866254], shall be excluded from[-e866254] any office,[-e866254] or to[+e866254]from[-e866254] being[-e866254] selected and to serve a[+e866254]s a juror, be and the same is hereby repealed;[+e866254]y reason of race or color,[-e866254] and it sh[+e866254]so much of [-e866254]all be un[+e866254]lawful for[+e866254]s making[-e866254] any person or[+e866254] [+e866256]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the supreme court of the District of Columbia sitting for the trial of crimes and misdemeanors be, and is hereby, authorized to order drawn from the jury-box provided for that purpose, and in the manner provided by law, the necessary, grand and petit jurors for the June term of the criminal court for the year 1867.[+e866256] officer to enforce or attempt to enforce said limit[+e866254]such discrimin[-e866254]ation after the passage of this act[+e866254]re hereby repealed[-e866254].
