The Civil Rights Act of 1875

[At-large] (July 24, 1824 — November 29, 1896) John Scott was an American politician and lawyer. Scott was born in Alexandria, Pennsylvania in 1824. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1846. Scott was a member of the State House of Representatives starting in 1862. He was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate and served during the Forty-First, Forty-Second, and Forty-Third Congresses from1869 to 1875.
