William A. Hall

United States Thirteenth Amendment 1863-65

(15 October, 1815 -- 15 December, 1888) Hall was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Portland, Maine, Hall moved to Missouri in 1840 and studied law. After admittance to the bar in 1841, Hall participated in the Missouri State constitutional convention in 1861 and was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-seventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the expulsion of John B. Clark and reelected as a Unionist to the Thirty-eighth Congress and served from January 20th, 1862 to March 3rd, 1865.
