DRAFT MEDIA RELEASE: STRAND 2

PLENARY SESSION: DAY 9: 24 JULY 1992

The Strand 2 plenary session resumed at 10.30 am on Friday, 24 July. Questioning of opening presentations was completed and responses to the presentations made. In a brief final session, Plenary agreed to recess until 2 September and invited delegations to prepare papers to assist the progress of deliberations following the recess. The Business Committee met during the lunch adjournment and will meet again on 1 September. It was noted that the two Governments have decided that the opening meeting of Strand 3 will be held between the two Governments in Dublin next week and that the next meeting of the Inter-governmental Conference will not now take place before the week beginning 28 September. It was also agreed that the Strand 2 work programme will include a substantive meeting of Strand 2 in Dublin in September.
