Patrick (Pat) Doherty. Born 18 July 1945. Vice President of Sinn Féin, 1988-2009. Sinn Féin delegate to the 1996-1998 multi-party talks, and a member of the negotiating team. MLA for West Tyrone, 1998-2012. MP for West Tyrone, 2001-17.

Patrick (Patsy) Groogan. Sinn Féin councillor for the Sperrin area of Magherafelt District Council, 1991-2005. He was elected to the Northern Ireland Forum in Mid Ulster. Sinn Féin delegate to the 1996-1998 multi-party talks.

Alex Maskey. Born 8 January 1952. Born Anne Harkin, she married the brother of Martin McGuinness and became known as Dodie McGuinness. Born 1950. Member of Derry City Council, 1985-1993. James Martin Pacelli McGuinness. Born 23 May 1950; died 21 March 2017. Former IRA member. MP for Mid Ulster, 1997-2012. Sinn Féin delegate to the 1996-1998 multi-party talks, and a member of the negotiating team. MLA for Mid Ulster, 1998-2017. Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, 2007-2017.

John Mitchell McLaughlin. Born 29 October 1945. MLA for Foyle, 1998-2003. MLA for South Antrim, 2007-2016. Sinn Féin delegate to the 1996-1998 multi-party talks. Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, 2015-2016.

Pat McNamee. Born 12 February 1957. Elected to the Northern Ireland Forum with Sinn Féin, 1996. Sinn Féin delegate to the 1996-1998 multi-party talks. Member of Newry and Mourne District Council, 1997-2001. MLA for Newry and Armagh, 1998-2003. Member of Armagh City Council, 2001-05. Became an Independent Nationalist politician, 2005-onwards.
