George S. Shanklin

"(December 23, 1807 -- April 1, 1883). George Sea Shanklin was a lawyer, farmer, and American politician. Shanklin was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky. Shanklin studied law and was admitted to the bar. He was a member of the State house of representatives in 1838, 1844, and from 1861-1865. George was also appointed Commonwealth attorney in 1854. Shanklin was elected as a Democrat to the 39th Congress (March 4, 1865 - March 3, 1867) and was not a candidate for reelection.
