United States Thirteenth Amendment 1863-65

Fernando Wood

(14 June, 1812 -- 14 February, 1881) Wood was an American businessman and politician. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Wood moved to New York City in his childhood. Wood was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-seventh Congress, failed reelection, and after holding various other public positions was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-eighth Congress. After another failed reelection, Wood was elected to the Fortieth and to the seven succeeding Congresses and served until his death.
