Hiram Price

(10 January, 1814 -- 30 May, 1901) Price was an American businessman and politician. Born in Washington County, Pa. Price moved to Iowa in 1844. Price was president of the State Bank of Iowa from 1859 to 1866 and became president of the First National Bank of Davenport in 1873. Price was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth, Thirty-ninth, and Fortieth Congresses. Later, Price was appointed United States Commissioner of Indian Affairs during the administration of President Garfield and served from May 6, 1881 to March 27, 1885.
