David T. Patterson

"(February 28, 1818 -- November 3, 1891) David Trotter Patterson was a(n) lawyer, manufacturer, judge, farmer, and American politician. He was born at Cedar Creek, Green County, Tennessee. David studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1841. He served as a judge of the 1st circuit court of Tennessee (1854 -1863). Patterson was elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate, he presented his credentials (July 26, 1866), took the oath of office (July 28, 1866), and served July 28th, 1866 to March 3, 1869 after the Senate resolved a challenge to his credentials.
