Thomas Hartley

(7 September 1748 – 21 December 1800) Lawyer, soldier, and member of the U.S. House of Representatives. After an accomplished military career -- in which he was a major force in the Pennsylvania campaign of the Revolutionary War -- Hartley served on the Pennsylvania legislature and practiced law. He attended the Pennsylvania convention to ratify the federal Constitution and served in the House of Representatives from the First Congress until his death in 1800.
