(4 October, 1819 --- 30 March, 1881) Loan was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Breckinridge County, Ky., Loan studied law until he moved to Missouri in 1838 and was admitted to the bar in 1840. Loan was elected as an Unconditional Unionist to the Thirty-eighth Congress and reelected as a Republican to the Thirty-ninth and Fortieth Congresses.
