Warren Winslow

(January 1, 1810 — August 16, 1862) Warren Winslow, a Representative from North Carolina; born in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, N.C., January 1, 1810; was graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1827; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Fayetteville; member of the State senate, and served as speaker; Acting Governor of North Carolina in December 1854; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fourth, Thirty-fifth, and Thirty-sixth Congresses (March 4, 1855-March 3, 1861); died in Fayetteville, N.C., August 16, 1862; interment in Cross Creek Cemetery.
