Message Notifying the House that H. R. 214 has Become a Law

A message in writing was received from the President of the United States, by Mr. Moore, his private secretary, which was handed in at the Speaker’s table; also a message notifying the House that he did this day approve and sign a joint resolution and bills of the following titles[.]

And also, that the bill of the House (H. R. 214) to amend the act passed March 23, 1867, entitled “An act supplementary to an act to provide for the more efficient government of the rebel States, passed March 2, 1867, and to facilitate their restoration,” having been presented to him on the 28th ultimo, and not having been returned within ten days, (Sunday excepted,) has become a law under the Constitution of the United States.
