Proposition on Salaries of Public Officers [File No. 133]

The salaries of public officers shall be regulated by the law. The governor and chief justices, each shall not receive a greater sum than $2,500 per annum. The secretary of state shall not receive more than $2,00 per annum. The attorney general, auditor, treasurer and superintendent of public instruction, shall not receive a greater sum than $1,800 per annum. The legislature may at any time after the expiration of five years change the salaries of the above named officers, but in no case shall the increase be more than $500 per annum to either of them.
