Nicholas Gilman

(3 August 1755 – 2 May 1814) Officer in the Continental Army and merchant. A Captain during the Revolutionary War, Gilman held many administrative duties and rose to the position of assistant adjutant general for the army. He was appointed as a delegate to the Confederation Congress and the Constitutional Convention. He would later be elected to both houses of the U.S. Congress.
