Motion on Jobseeker's Allowance

The Forum notes that the introduction of the jobseeker's allowance (JSA) receives no support from the political representatives of Northern Ireland.

It further notes the detrimental effects the JSA will have on the unemployed, the part-time employed, students and those on invalidity benefit.

The Forum therefore resolves that the Government should abolish the JSA and implement a scheme (taking into consideration the views of welfare groups) that benefits people when seeking and finding employment.
